It is sometimes funny how ideas from completely different things bring up completely new thoughts in other domains. Friend linked an article in WSJ about the effects of anti-vaccine movement and that reminded me of movements and extremes that people sometimes take in more familiar contexts like software development.
I sometimes fear extremes and the polarity that people bring into discussions while trying to hoot the horn of their favorite new concept.
What if you are wrong, what if we are wrong?
Are we – twenty to thirty something – developers really that smart that we know everything better than the rest of the population and other professions? Do we really know the business problem and the organizational constraints well enough – before we dash to solve the problems we see and complain in the pub how the management, peons or whatnots do not just see it.
What if you are a person in the anti-vaccine crowd?
